Toddlers

Kumara Sentana is the kindergarten of Learning for Life Bali (LFLB). When school fees or long travelling time are obstacles, LFLB helps out in practical ways. This way about fifty toddlers are now visiting Kumara Sentana. Children learn while playing by using theme-corners, like a kitchen and a shop. The kindergarten prepares children for primary school by practising language and arithmetic skills, but also by teaching children communication and creative skills, like listening, storytelling, arts and music making.

This is what Wayan told us about what he learned:

I learnt the words Anny and chair. I learned to count, to read, to write. The big A is different from the small one, because you use it for someone’s name. Names are important. I also made something funny. A finger puppet! I know how to cut and glue it. At home, I use it to tell a story. A story about MY favourite thing that I love very much. All these things are in one funny storybook about Anny, her parents, big brother, naughty cat, sweet dog and how much fun it is to share ANNY’S STOOL and much more!
